Erin Kauffman – Program Manager, Education Services

Erin leads and develops all of PLAN’s educational programs and manages all local school partnerships. Before her work with PLAN, she spent 14 years as a certified music educator and arts administrator with Baltimore County Public Schools, Carroll County Public Schools and Annapolis Area Christian School. She primarily served as a high school choral director and taught music theory and musical theater. She regularly wrote curriculum, led teacher professional development workshops, and participated in state committees for arts education assessment and development. Erin’s passion for educational equity drives everything she does at PLAN, and nothing motivates her like seeing Baltimore’s students succeed and reach their true potential.

Lynn Beans – Learning Center Supervisor

Lynn serves as an evening supervisor for PLAN’s Learning Center, where she provides academic and spiritual support for students and their tutors. After graduating from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, she pursued a career in youth ministry for eight years and has since made her way back into the classroom through Baltimore County Public Schools. Lynn loves working with PLAN because it brings together two of her primary interests, educational justice and a passion for the reconciling work of the gospel. She appreciates the Learning Center’s core value of meeting the needs of the whole child.

Anne Hartman – Launchpad Supervisor

Anne serves as the supervisor for Launchpad, PLAN’s pilot program for high school students. She has served as a tutor at the Learning Center for 3 years, and currently lives in Pen Lucy. Anne has taught high school English for 12 years and holds an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from Covenant College. She loves building relationships with high school students, and is committed to creating an environment where they are known, cared for, and challenged and supported towards growth.

Natalie Robinett - Learning Center Supervisor

Natalie serves as an evening supervisor for PLAN’s Learning Center, where she provides academic and spiritual support for students and their tutors. After completing her PhD at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2015, she taught as an adjunct instructor at Notre Dame of Maryland University and is now doing a post-doctoral fellowship at JHU. Natalie worked with the learning center as a tutor for several years prior to becoming a supervisor for the program this semester. She loves working with the PLAN Learning Center as it provides an opportunity to support the academic needs of students, while allowing her to build relationships and show the children the hope of the gospel.

Alison Currie – Summer Teaching Artist

Alison serves as a visual arts instructor in the PLANarts summer program. Her goal is to introduce children to materials and techniques that offer fun, novelty and enough challenge to grow their confidence in imaginative thinking and artistic problem solving. Alison holds a BFA degree in art education from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY.

Sarah Kennedy – Community Outreach Coordinator

Sarah oversees student recruitment and community engagement for our Summer@Faith program. She received her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and has leveraged her skills as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to build close ties between PLAN and the families we serve. Since relocating to Baltimore in 2011, Sarah has served as a community organizer and case manager, specializing in community development through arts, education, and community building. In 2013, Sarah was honored with a Maryland Governor’s Service Award for her work with children of incarcerated parents in Baltimore. She is currently employed at Civic Works' Center for Sustainable Careers as the Senior Case Manager, where she provides support for adults and young adults pursuing careers in green construction fields.

Ann Maouyo – Summer Teaching Artist

Ann serves as an assistant visual arts instructor for PLANarts. She has written English language arts curricula for underserved youth for the past twenty years with a Johns Hopkins University program. A longtime member of Faith Christian Fellowship Church, Ann serves as a member of the Women’s Leadership Team, women’s Bible study leader, and adult Sunday school teacher. Ann holds a BA in French and a graduate diploma in French African literature. She is currently pursuing an MA in Christian Thought at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.

Alissa Rogers – Summer Programs Supervisor

Alissa manages the practical aspects of both PLANarts and the Summer Reading Club for our Summer@Faith program. During the school year, she teaches 6th grade English and social studies at Morrell Park Elementary/Middle School in Southwest Baltimore. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English education (4-8) from Messiah College, and recently obtained her master’s degree in secondary English education and special education through Urban Teachers, an alternative teacher training program. Baltimore and the Pen Lucy neighborhood hold a special place in her heart, and she feels honored and blessed to be a part of PLAN.

Brian Sessions – Summer Teaching Artist

Brian Sessions serves as a spoken word performance and video teaching artist for PLANarts. Brian is a community activist, artist, and mentor who is passionate about helping youth and young adults find their identity, security, and purpose in life through Jesus Christ. He is a Baltimore native and the founder of The Remnant of Christ, LLC, an arts organization and ministry that uses arts and entertainment as a platform for delivering the gospel message. He is married to ShaDawn Sessions and is the father of two boys.

ShaDawn Sessions – Summer Teaching Artist

ShaDawn serves as a dance teaching artist for PLANarts. A native of Baltimore City, she is the founder and director of Grace Abounds Mentoring through the Arts, a non-profit that mentors inner city youth through various performing arts. Dawn has received training in ballet, modern, and African dance. She holds a BS in criminal justice from the University of Baltimore and is married to Brian Sessions, with whom she has two boys.

Kellie Zephir – Summer Teaching Artist & PLANarts Coordinator

Kellie serves as a music teaching artist and event coordinator for PLANarts. Since 2010, Kellie has been the choral director at Overlea High School in Baltimore County, successfully expanding and improving the program so that it has represented the County Schools system at the State Festivals. Kellie is an accomplished vocalist who performs regularly around the Baltimore metro area, and she leads worship at Faith Christian Fellowship Church.
