The Arise Campaign

The Need

Although PLAN has been doing great work since 1998, we don’t believe in resting on our laurels! We are constantly engaging our families to understand how to better meet their educational and spiritual needs. In light of this, the PLAN board has been fervently asking God to show us what we should be working towards over the next 5 to 10 years. After much prayer and discussion, we have come to believe that God is calling us to strengthen and expand our commitment to educational justice for underserved students living in Pen Lucy and Northern Baltimore City.

Addressing the Need

For PLAN to answer this important call, we need to build our organizational capacity in every sense of the word. Specifically, we must:

  • secure seed money to invest in new strategic programs that will meet the growing needs of our community, including adding early childhood reading initiatives and school-based services at our partner schools

  • find, develop, and competitively pay additional staff to lead and direct these future programs

  • recruit and develop committed volunteers to partner with our students and their families

To that end, in November of 2019, the PLAN board launched the Arise Campaign, a major capacity building initiative to strengthen our work in two crucial areas: human capital (hiring an Executive Director and additional program staff) and educational services (expanding the reach of the Learning Center, Launchpad, and Summer@Faith programs).

Why “Arise?”

The ARISE Capital Campaign is named as such because, when we look to the future, we see PLAN rising up to fulfill its latent potential. Your involvement is the first step in launching this campaign and realizing this vision. PLAN is looking to connect with individuals, churches, and corporations who are passionate about our city, and especially its children. We want to engage donors and volunteers who value educational outcomes and invite them to join us in providing high-quality educational and artistic enrichment programming.
